Grill first, then sit by the fire: our folding BBQs turn into a fire pit after dinner and pack flat afterwards. Add a forged steel pan that works over embers as well as on the stove.

Flat beats round
A folding BBQ lies 7 to 8 cm flat in the boot, next to the cool box and bags. A kettle grill takes up far more room.
Size
How many people?
For two, the Eldfell or Katla M is enough. If you're cooking for the whole family, take the Katla L with its 45 × 45 cm grate.
Ground
Protect the surface
The Katla grills have a stainless steel base plate that protects the ground from ash. Still keep your distance on dry grass.

Are fires allowed?
Many campsites and areas near forests have BBQ and fire bans. Check locally before you use the fire pit.
Portable BBQ and fire pit for camping and roof tent trips
When it comes to outdoor cooking, what counts is what you can take with you. Our folding BBQs collapse to a few centimetres, so they fit into small cars too. At the pitch they're set up in a few minutes.
The clever part is the second function: take out the grate after dinner and the BBQ becomes a fire pit. No need for a second piece of kit for the evening by the fire. The Eldfell holds 6.5 litres, the Katla models have more room for wood.
For everything that belongs in a pan, there's the Smed Pan, a hand-forged carbon steel pan. It's forged from a single piece and needs seasoning before first use. Over time it builds up a patina that's great for rösti, eggs and steaks.
FAQ about outdoor cooking
Can I use the folding BBQ as a fire pit?
Yes. On all three BBQs you take out the cooking grate and add wood. Please follow the local fire rules.
Which BBQ suits two people?
For two, the Eldfell at 3.9 kg or the Katla M at 7.3 kg is enough. At 7 cm, the Eldfell is the flattest when packed.
What fuel do the BBQs use?
Charcoal or wood. For the fire pit in the evening, dry firewood works well.
Does the Smed Pan need seasoning?
Yes, before first use. You'll find instructions and suitable oils on the product page. A patina then builds up with every use.
Does the Smed Pan work on induction?
Yes. According to the manufacturer, the pan works on every type of hob indoors and outdoors, including induction.
