About us
We make rooftop tenting easy
Groenberg is based in Itzehoe, Germany, and has been making rooftop tents since 2018. We started with classic models. Then the same questions kept coming up: Can my car take it? Where do I store the tent? And how do I get it onto the roof on my own? Those questions led to the WEEKEND – and to our way of thinking about rooftop tents.
How it all started
When we founded Groenberg in 2018, the rooftop tent boom was in full swing. We sold hard-shell and fold-out tents and quickly noticed: lots of people want a rooftop tent, but their everyday life doesn’t fit one. The car is small, the roof load is low, and the flat has no basement or garage.
So we rethought the rooftop tent. The result is the WEEKEND: it is set up on the ground, lifted onto the car as one unit and never travels on the roof. Packed, it fits in the boot or a storage cupboard. At 11.5 kg, the WEEKEND Classic is one of the lightest rooftop tents in the world.
What matters to us
Simple, not complicated
A rooftop tent should give you time outdoors, not cost you time with bolts and straps. That’s why the first question for every product is: how can this be simpler?
For the car you have
Small car, EV or estate: with the WEEKEND, a hard shell or a soft top, you’ll find the rooftop tent that suits your car and its roof load. Our roof load finder helps you choose.
Honest advice
We also tell you what a rooftop tent can’t do. The WEEKEND, for example, comes down before every drive, and you’ll need your own sleeping mat. Better to know beforehand than be annoyed afterwards.
